FRENCH PRESS

(PLUNGER/CAFETIERE)

Step by Step Brew Guide

Step 1 -  Weigh out the correct amount of freshly ground coffee depending on how much water you will use for your French Press size.

Step 2 - Boil fresh water and allow the kettle to cool for 60 seconds to lower the temperature from boiling down to roughly 94°c.

Step 3 - Pour roughly a quarter of your total water just to wet the coffee and allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds.

Step 4 - Pour in the remainder of your water and with a large spoon stir the coffee gently a few times.

Step 5 - Place the mesh plunger in the top of the beaker but do not plunge, allow the coffee to steep for 4 minutes.

Step 6 - After 4 minutes, gently press the plunger down. If you find it difficult to press down, your grind setting may be too fine. If the plunger drops down very quickly and too easily, your grind setting may be too coarse.

Step 7 - Serve coffee immediately and don’t let it sit longer as it will continue brewing and could over-extract. Enjoy!
